5 years PR EEA family member



  • Hi .....I have my resident permit for 5 years will expire next year in March.....However this year in Agust I will be 5 years married... I got married here In UK.....can I apply for my PR this March or do I have to wait till August...?

    @rupa78 Did you marry the same person who you got the first Residence Permit as the family member of? If so you can apply once you have completed 5 years, in March. It doesn't matter that some of this period was spent as an unmarried partner. If however you have a Retained Right of Residence (eg following a relationship breakdown) the situation is a little more complicated - let me know if so and I can provide further information.



  • @kim Dear Kim.....I do appreciate so much for your help.....is the same person in August will be 5 years married here in UK buy we being leaving together for 8 years.....now we have a 2 years son.....the main thing my permit resident expire in March next year......but can I apply this year in August ....? When I gonna be 5 years married...?
